Congratulations go to Debby Grice, who came third in this year's sSSc. Pete Goodsall, Pete Owen
and Pete Roberts were all "highly commended"!
Our congratulations also go to Paul Rogers & Jenny Tunstall, who came first and
second respectively, as well as to all those who were short-listed - very well done!

Somerset Short Story Competition has ended.
The Somerset Short Story Competition has now closed.
A number of our members have been short-listed!
The final results will be announced in a ceremony at the historic Tyntesfield House
on Saturday, 5th November at 14:00.

Somerset Short Story Competition.
Entries are invited to sSSc, the Somerset Short Story Competition.
The competition is open to all those aged 16 or over and resident in Somerset, North
Somerset or "B.A.N.E.S." and closes on Wednesday, 31st August 2011. Please download
the entry form & rules shown to the right.
A story can be up to 1,500 words & may be on any subject or theme. So get writing!
Past competitions have produced some superb entries: join them!

The Death of Rosemary Ford.
Rosemary Ford, a founder member of the Pier Group, has died.
It is with the very greatest sadness that we announce the death of Rosemary. She
was a lovely lady, astonishingly brave; with an amazing sense of humour (some of
it quite dark!); she always had a tale to tell and a twinkle in her eye. She is
very sorely missed by all of us.

The anthology comprises of over 39 of the highest quality short stories and poems
spread across over 200 pages.

Pier Group Members First and Second in Short Story Competition!
Deborah Grice has, for the second time, won the Weston-Super-Mare Short Story Competition
for “The Tiger”.
Another of our talented members, Alyson Heap, was joint second with “Letting
Go”.
